Wondering How You Can Help our Local Firefighters? Read This!

Currently, there are multiple large wildfires burning throughout California. Unfortunately, firefighters have lost their lives, structures have been destroyed and the air-quality is reaching unhealthy levels.  The Holy Fire, local to us, has prompted thousands of people to be evacuated from their homes. Knowing how close this fire is to home, I and many others are wondering how can we help our local firefighters and those being evacuated?

Although it might seem like a great idea to gather care packages with water, food, and supplies to deliver to your local firehouses, there has been a message issued from our local Corona Fire Department that although they love the community’s generosity, they are currently well stocked up on supplies and donations.

So what can we do now? According to the Corona Fire Department the best way to assist is to make a financial contribution to the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross assists these disaster situations in many ways. They provide Overnight Shelter for evacuated families, distribute emergency supplies like comfort kits with basic personal necessities, provide Mental health contacts to help people cope with the loss or potential loss of their home, serve warm meals provide snacks and water, and they also support the emergency responders.
